Cat playing or fighting
Having a multiple cats, you can expect that your cat can play rough. Outdoor cats can play rough with other cats including the cats that stay inside. It is usually biting your ankles or arms whenever your cats play with each other. Cats with higher energy to play have difficulty finding ways to release their energy and which can be playful with other cats.  

What is the difference with cat playing and fighting? Cats that are not familiar with each will result to fighting and not playing. The dominant cat will be more frightening to another cat with this kind of behavior such as screaming, hissing continuously during that condition what looks like that playing but are signs of fighting. In addition, if a cat gets hurt, this is a signs that cats are not playing. This is a sign that your cats are really fighting. The most important things to learn about your cat especially if your cat is an outdoors cat and met another cat. You will be able to tell if fighting or playing is going on. Leaving your cat outside and without knowing if the playing or fighting occurred will have effects on your cat's behaviors on going out again.

Distraction is the best way to separate a fighting cat. If you interfere with your cat in any situation such as fighting this may cause pain to you and to your cats. Make a loud shouting voice this will distract fighting cats. Have a water spray bottles handy to use for cat's fighting, cats do not like to be sprayed with water and this will stop them. Once the cats stop fighting immediately separate the cats with doors or close area partition so your cats are not be able to see each other. This aggression will need to be dealt with carefully. Allowing cats to continue to fight will end up with a cat being hurt and with fighting; this could cause sickness and disease in the cats. This will be expensive in terms of medication and having to take the cat to the veterinarian for medication and some time stays at the veterinarian clinic for care and treatment.

Cat playing is a natural behavior of a cat and you should not interfere to your cats when playing. Introducing some other activities for your cat can help enhance playing, when the playing seems to get to intense just introduce playing toys for your cats to play with.

With multiple cats in a home, you will want to create an environment for each cat to have a place to feel comfortable. Some cats that are not able to adapt to other cats in the home and share it because of different breeds and natures of the cat and will always depend on the cats being able to share one area. There are cat breeds that are naturally single pet and will not fit in the home with the presents of other cats or dogs. These types of cats will have high stress and quick aggression towards other cats. Hitting your cats is not a good remedy to any situation; this makes your cat fear you, as this will lead for a good relation with your cat as a boss. Training will be impossible if communication is not applied in your cat. Physical punishment to any animal is never a good approach. Remember your cat is a companion and a friend; we as humans would never do physical or mental punishment to our pets after all cats is created by God for us to appreciate their ability and skills.

Always remember if your cats are not fighting and are just playing with each other, this is a sign of good communication with your cats. Allowing the good relationship foster will help your cat to be more productive pet in terms or relationship. Communication is a great tool when training your cat.
