Cat training collar
Cats like dogs; you will need to get a collar for them.  There will be a times when you will want to walk the cat or let your cat out on a leash. With having a collar it will be easy to do both of these.

In collar training it takes time, to be patience on your cat. If your cat has never worn a collar you will need to do a step by step training.

There are many ways of getting a collar to your cat. The market is flooded with collars of all shape and sizes, to every color and design that you can think of, cheap collars and expensive collars. When looking at collars you will also see harness for cats this can be a good substitution for the collar. You would place the harness around the cat to serve the same as a collar.

Example of leashed and collars that glows in the dark and some that have a small light on it, at night you would be able to see the cat outside and know where your cat is.

Which one is the right collar for your cat? When purchasing a collar for your cat you must consider it size not so big ,one with a lot of collar hanging over once you put it on, and of course never get a collar or put a collar on that which is too tight for the cat  the tendency that you are making your cat loosen its collar.

When purchasing a collar for the cat, when you get it home the first thing you might do is to wipe it off with warm water, to help gets rid of smells from other people or pets. If there is any other smells on the collar, the cat may not want to have anything to do with the collar. .

You must put the collar down and let the cat checks out for them rub the collar, when your cat hiss at the collar this is a sign that your cat like it and have your cat relax for a while. A good idea would be to get the cat in your lap and massage your cat. It will help the cat to relax, after you see that the cat has relaxed already, and then is the time to lay the collar around the cat?s neck in order your cat to be used. Just put the collar on your cat a couple times a day until are used to it.

The next step you would do is to put the collar on the cat neck but leave it as loose as you can, if your cat is not ready of it, just get it off the collar right away. Do not slip the collar over the cats head but you need to buckle the collar to the proper way. Putting the collar over the cats head could scare the cat. As the cat gets used to the collar, you should then try to tighten up the collar everyday until you have the proper adjustment on the cat necks.

After the cat has worn the collar for several days then it would be a good time to start the leash for the cat. Following the same procedure as you did for the collar on your cat you can do the same for the leash. This will be very important things for your cat to know that the leash is a good tool and not something that will harm your cat.


In training your cat by using a collar and leash, you must reward cat with a food at every steps your cat accomplished having the collar on or using the leash.

Training a cat using a collar will take a lot of patience and determination for your cat and this make a good opportunity learning your cat.
